East meets West in this melting pot of post-65 Northern and Funk tinged Soul, another Soul Essential from Outta Sight.

Today we pay homage to 2 great bastions of Soul – Shelby Singleton’s colossus SSS INTERNATIONAL and the motion picture subsidiary GSF Music Corp. Both labels issued a heady mix of deep, sweet, funk and classic Soul including Northern rarities “Lonely For You Baby” Sam Dees and “I Can See Him Loving You” Anderson Bros.It’s not just the ‘heavenly’ output of the labels that link them together, they both originate from New York although SSS had moved operations to Nashville in 1968, some 4 years before the GSF imprint emerged.

Here we have – for the first time – the combined  upbeat Soul sides of SSS/GSF…keep on dancin’! – Outta Sight
