HITS AND RARITIES FROM THE HOLLYWOOD DANCE FLOOR

Packed with 28 tracks from the iconic West Coast ERA Records

Includes previously unreleased masters, alternate takes and many new-to-CD records featuring the finest of Hollywood’s sessionaires

OUTTA SIGHT present ERA Records, the iconic Hollywood label founded in 1955 by cousins Herb Newman and Lew Bedell.

We’ve dug deep in the vaults to bring together our priceless collection of Northern Soul dancers, neo-doo-wop rarities and R&B rockers. Crafted by the pioneers of the emerging Hollywood soul sound, known collectively as the “wrecking crew”, and recorded, in the main, at Gold Star Studios under the occasional watchful eye and fine tuned ear of sound engineer Phil Spector.

Here are 28 tracks, many on CD for the first time and some, previously unreleased. Here too are familiar hit makers such as Jewel Akens, Ketty Lester and Bob & Earl plus forgotten gems by the little known Dee Dee Dorety, The Wonders, Tommy Mosely and Albert Stone.- Outta Sight
