The voice of the late, great Ted Taylor is one of the most unique and admired in 60s and 70s blues and soul music. A prolific recording artist for almost 30 years, the quantity of titles in his catalogue is matched track for track by their high quality.

Ted’s hits for most of the labels he recorded for – including Ebb, Duke, Top Rank, OKeh, Atco, Ronn and Alarm – have been anthologised on CDs over the past 20 years. “Keep What You Get” brings together two dozen rarities from the Ronn vaults that were cut between 1969 and 1974 but that have mostly been un-reissued in the digital era.

Hard-to-find album-only tracks, alternate takes and mixes of proven Taylor favourites, four duets with his label-mate Little Johnny Taylor (no relation) and almost a dozen tracks that were either unissued at the time of recording, or that have never been issued prior to this CD, will make this a must.
