Although to find greater fame and fortune as a songwriter and producer, in conjunction with his brother Brian and Lamont Dozier, Eddie Holland began his Motown adventure as a singer. His own vocal style was similar to that of Jackie Wilson, so much so that many of the early songs Berry Gordy wrote for Jackie were demoed by Eddie, so when Jackie and Berry had their parting of the ways, Berry was convinced he had a ready made replacement at hand.
Eddie would score a minor hit with Jamie, resulting in several clone tracks in an attempt to replicate that success, but Eddies solo career floundered due to one reason; he suffered from stage fright. It eventually got so great he opted for a career the other side of the studio glass and thus helped shape popular music in a different way.
