John Edwards – How Can I Go On Without You
When GRC records suddenly ceased, they left some marvellous, finished material in the vaults. None more so than the tracks recorded by the esteemed John Edwards on material written by the likes of Sam Dees, Frederick Knight and Phillip Mitchell. ‘Time’ would have been a highlight of Edwards’ planned second Aware LP and has been acclaimed since its Kent CD release in 1996. Written by Dees and Knight it is intelligent, urgent soul, now appearing as a 7” single for the first time. We already issued ‘How Can I Go On Without You’ as such, but the constant demand for this original of Corey Blake’s Capitol 45, meant we are repeating it for recent converts. The first pressing now sells for more than £200.- Ace Records
