Johnnie Taylor – Stax Classics CD (Concord)

In celebration of the legendary music label Stax Records and their 60th anniversary, a unique marketing partnership between Concord Music Group and Warner Music Group’s Rhino Entertainment has been created to celebrate the extraordinary rise of Stax Records as an international hit-making machine and its indispensable chapter in American musical history as an integrated company in the heart of the Civil Rights movement. Together Concord/Stax and Rhino Entertainment will release a series titled Stax Classics which will be a reunification of music masters that parted ways in the 1960s. This unique partnership and the release of many musical Stax jewels will commemorate this historic year.

The Stax 60 celebration will highlight the hits, deep cuts and rare tracks from the Memphis label’s heyday of the ’60s and ‘70s, including the many legendary artists who jointly created the world-renown “Stax Sound” Each CD will feature 12 tracks in series branded packaging.
