Maxine Brown – Best Of The Wand Years CD (Kent)

Maxine is one of Kent’s longest serving artists and we have been responsible for discovering and championing her 1960s catalogue for over twenty years. We are still finding new vintage material from the Wand years and there are three previously unheard tracks on here.

Two tracks are from CDs on the Ace label never before on Kent and the dancers’ favourite ‘Am I Falling In Love’ is on a solo Maxine CD for the first time.

‘Why Did I Choose You’ is a great new uptempo dance find to accompany the original Kent-released Northern Soul tracks like ‘It’s Torture’ and ‘I Want A Guarantee’. Northern classics ‘One In A Million’ and ‘Let Me Give You My Lovin’’ are on here, side by side with Maxine’s Brill Building ballads ‘Oh No Not My Baby’ and ‘ It’s Gonna Be Alright’.  – Ace Records
