It doesn’t get any better than The Velvelettes’s ‘Lonely Lonely Girl Am I’!
From the glorious string lift to the trio’s evocative vocals, this was perfect for the chasmic Casino, a sound that filled the room and raised the roof.
Released in 1965 in the US on VIP and Tamla Motown in Canada, it goes for over £350 and is worth every penny.
Backed with another Motown legend, Gladys Knight And The Pips on the much-bootlegged and magically sassy ‘No One Could Love You More’.
Original Motown black label copies go for around £150.
Both remastered for the ultimate vintage Motown vibe.
