”Let This Melody Ring On” from 1975 continues a similar path to earlier albums but with a larger ensemble including a six piece string section, giving the music a fuller sound.

The six tracks are self composed and arranged songs. The opener ”Good Shepherd” is probably the best-known track on the album. It is another funky Jazz dance instrumental groove. ”Senor Trane” is a lovely modal jazz workout paying homage to the maestro saxophonist. ”Panama Roots” is an interesting near ten-minute musical journey to Carlos homeland that goes through many changes and which unusually features him on Baritone Sax in places.

”Ghetto Jungle and ”Let This Melody Ring On” are funkier string laden vocal tracks that complete the album, and appeal to a wider audience. ”Let This Melody Ring On” further consolidated Carlos position as bandleader and a recording artist. It was to be the third and last album that he recorded at Minot Sound Studios with Joe Fields as Executive Producer. His Earthy style of music has been more widely appreciated retrospectively and this album is highly sought after by Jazz Collectors its original vinyl issue.
