Soul Brother brings you a rarer than rare funky soul gem from Chet (Poison) Ivy. Chet recorded periodically between the late 50s and mid 70s. The two great sides here were recorded at Sigma sound Philadelphia and released originally on a 1974 7” for New York label Sylvia (also issued on Memphis label Freetone in 1975). Copies have exchanged hands for over £100. “Get Down With The Geater” was sampled by DJ Q-Bert in 2006 and is a great Funk bomb. “Dose Of Soul” has become the in demand dancer in recent years on both the Funk and Modern Soul scenes.
